Funeral services for Alec "Buz" Cockrell, 75, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 3:30 p.m., in the Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mike Meadows and Bro. Royce Pennington officiating. Interment will follow in the Union Springs Cemetery in Corrigan, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 27, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. until the service begins at 3:30 p.m. in the Central Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas.

Alec "Buz" Cockrell, a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, passed away on April 25, 2017. Buzzy was born August 16, 1941 in Camden, Texas to parents, Luther Cockrell and Fannie (Campbell) Cockrell. He attended Pasadena High School. He graduated from Stephen F. Austin State University and attended South Texas College of Law. He is preceded in death by his father, Luther Cockrell; and parents, Harold and Fannie Woodard.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Cockrell of Livingston, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Ben and Priscilla Cockrell of Livingston, Texas; son, Chance Cockrell of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Laci Kaye Booth; grandsons, Luke Cockrell, Karson Cockrell, and Lane Cockrell; brothers, Ben Roland Cockrell of Livingston, Texas and Harold "Chessy" Woodard of Corrigan, Texas; and numerous other relatives and friends.

Buzzy was a larger-than-life man who will be missed by all.
