Obituary

Funeral service for Aline Hammond Jackson, age 87 of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, May 16, 2012, at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston. Conducting the services will be Bill Yasko and Mike Miller. Pallbearers are Scott Jones, Kristopher Robinson, Nekoa Moss, Jimmy Hammond, Malcolm Odell and Christopher Michener. Interment will follow the chapel service at Bluff Creek Cemetery in Polk County, Texas.

Aline was born on September 30, 1924, in Beaumont, Texas, to parents, L.D. Carter and Johnnie Beaumont Carter. She was a graduate of Beaumont High School. Aline attended nursing school and worked for the Polk County Hospital until early retirement and then worked for Dr. Carlos Llanes and his nephew, Dr. Carlos Llanes until his death. On November 2, 1947, she married H.T. Hammond in Beaumont, Texas, and they spent the next eighteen years traveling while he served in the U.S. Air Force. While in Germany, they adopted a beautiful son and daughter. After Mr. Hammond' retirement, in 1963 they settled in the Livingston area. After Mr. Hammond' death in 1991, Aline met and married A.R. Jackson in 1994.

She passed away on May 13, 2012, at her home in Livingston. Preceding Aline in death, are her parents, L.D. and Johnnie Carter; first husband, H.T. Hammond; daughter-in-law, Anna Hammond; and brother, L.D. Carter, Jr. She is survived by husband, A.R. Jackson of Livingston; daughter, Debra ""Gina"" Moss of Fredericksburg, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Phillip and Sherry Hammond of Conroe, Texas; two step-daughters, Kib Michener of St. Louis, Missouri and Tobe Odell of New Brunswick, Canada; step-son, Harland Jackson of West Palm Beach, Florida; sister-in-law, Dora Carter of Houston, TX; grandchildren, Krishna and Scott Jones, Kristopher Robinson, Nekoa Moss, Jimmy and Mary Hammond, Heather Rash, Christopher Michener, Malcolm Odell, Amelia Michener, Dorie Michener and Devin Odell; ten great grandchildren, Zoe, Riley, Dempsey, Braddick, Michael, Emily, Joshua, Nathaniel, Alice and Chantel.

Aline was known for her deep compassion, fun loving nature, sensitivity toward the patients she serviced while working in the hospital and the offices of the doctors. She will be remembered for the deep love she had for her friends and family.

Visitation will be held at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, beginning at 5:00 PM on Tuesday, May 15, 2012.
