Services for Allen Nelson, 59, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at the Nelson Residence: 316 Bar-N-Lane, Livingston, Texas. Interment will also be held at the Nelson Residence. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM, Tuesday, September 9, 2014 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Nelson was born on July 11, 1955 in Livingston, Texas, to parents, Lester Nelson and Joyce Mayzell Nelson, and passed away on September 7, 2014 at his home in Livingston. He was a lifelong resident of Livingston. He lived his life for his family and friends. Carrying on tradition, he was a 3 ^rd generation concrete craftsman. He served as a volunteer on the Livingston Fire Department for 20 years. As an avid outdoorsman, he was known to some as "The Great White Hunter." His football buddies may remember him as "Uncle Al the kiddies pal," like they say, children at the greatest judge of character. On any given Saturday, at 1 o'clock, you could always find him at the auction barn. He took pride in the fact he could sit at the table with anyone, look past class and see the real person. He was a humble man that was bigger than life. He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother-in-law, Bubba Watson.

He is survived by his wife and best friend of 42 years, Debra Nelson of Livingston; son, Brandon Nelson of Livingston, daughter, Rachel Nelson Darling of Livingston; son and daughter-in-law, Montana and Meagan Nelson of Livingston; grandchildren, Ace Nelson, Alexis Darling, Briley Darling, Kason Nelson, and Karter Nelson, all of Livingston; sister, Linda Watson of Livingston; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Marcey Nelson of Livingston; along with numerous other nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Mr. Nelson will be escorted to his final resting place by pallbearers: Corky Cochran, Mark Jones, Chuck Hinton, Claude Thomas, Doug Stanford, Ryan Hall, Ronnie Shaw, Dennis Clifton, Mike Dominey, John Haynes, Guy Rasberry, Craig "Jug" Wright, Mark Smith, Keith Mayes, and Bubba Rowe.
