Funeral services for Alvin Wilson Nettles, 89, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Wednesday, April 25, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Wayne Bickley officiating. Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 24, 2018 from 5:00 to 10:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Nettles was born January 28, 1929 in Livingston, Texas to parents, John Cicero Nettles and Katie (Maze) Nettles, and passed away April 22, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. He proudly served his country in the United States Army. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Olean Nettles; sister, Jewell Nettles; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alvis and Mary Nettles, Jack Nettles, Kenneth and Francis Nettles, Glenn Roy Nettles, and Aubrey Earl Nettles; and sisters-in-law, Marjorie Nettles and Christine Nettles.

He is survived by his sons and daughters-in-law, Neal and Pam Nettles, Mickey and Tracy Nettles, Lance and Sherrie Nettles all of Livingston, Texas; daughter and son-in-law, Gina and Preston Jones of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Jared and Mandy Nettles of Livingston, Texas, Dan and Ashley Nettles of Spring, Texas, Matt and Lauren Nettles of Livingston, Texas, Katie and Drew Colvin of Port Neches, Texas, Tyler Jones of Lubbock, Texas, and Taylor Jones of San Antonio, Texas; great-grandson, Evan Nettles of Spring, Texas; sisters and brothers-in-law, Betty and Pablo Paredes of Livingston, Texas, Dene and Lee Courtney of Buffalo Grove, Illinois, and Faye and Bob Hamilton of Spring, Texas; brother and sister-in-law, Elmer and Hilda Nettles of Livingston, Texas; brother, Floyd Nettles of Deer Park, Texas; sisters-in-law, Rita Nettles, Barbara Nettles, Novie Nettles, and Cathy Richardson all of Livingston, Texas; and special friend, Jeannie Davis of Livingston, Texas; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
