Funeral services for Amanda Ruth Walker, 88, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, November 10, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Steve Waldrep officiating. Interment will follow in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, November 9, 2018, from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Walker was born on November 28, 1929 in Franklin, Texas, to parents, Pickney Cornet Scott and Edna Pauline (Johnson) Scott, and passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by family November 6, 2018 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Wallace Walker; daughter, Paula Geary; great-grandsons, Hayden Paske and Caleb Walker; and sisters, Janet Binnicker and Hilda Caballero.

During her life, Mrs. Walker was President of the Ladies Auxiliary VFW Post #8568. She served as President from 1992-1994 and served a second term from 2000-2001. She also served in other capacities in the Auxiliary since 1988, which was the year she became a member of the Auxiliary. She was chairman for the Livingston Convalescent Center from July of 1990 until 1993. She played a big part in the Honor Guard, which she loved so much.

She is survived by her daughters, Brenda Walker and Wendy Walker; son, Charles Walker; daughter-in-law, Julie Walker; grandchildren, William and April Keyworth, Brian and Melissa Geary, Paul and Sheree Paske, Scott Paske and Beth Mulhollan, Jason and Brandie Paske, Neisha Walker, Leah Walker, and Amanda Maddox; great grandchildren, Haley Paske, Hannah Paske, Tyler Keyworth, Hunter Paske, Gavin Kelley, Rhyan Maddox, Elizabeth Gray, Amber Paske, Grant Paske, and Sebastian Maddox; and sister, Katherine May; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the VFW Post #8568 of Livingston, Texas.
