Services for Annie Mae Bounds, 89, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, October 8, 2023 at 2:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow at Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 1:00-2:00 p.m., Sunday, October 8, 2023 at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

Annie was born December 29, 1933, in Hineston, Louisiana, to William "Willie" David and Edith Mae Squyres, and passed away October 5, 2023, in Livingston, Texas.

She graduated from Oak Hill High School in Elmer, Louisiana, and went to work for Bell Telephone Co. in Alexandria, Louisiana. She then met and married the love of her life, Burlen "Bur" Simon Bounds of Hineston, Louisiana. They were married on October 29, 1952 and began their new life together in Beaumont, Texas. They would later move to Pasadena, Texas, where they would raise their seven children.

Annie Mae loved her children and spent her days cooking and chauffeuring them to school and their many activities. She did find joy in bowling and playing dominos and cards with her friends and family. She was a long time member of Thomas Avenue Baptist Church in Pasadena, Texas, where she loved playing the organ and piano. Annie and Bur loved reading their Bible together and watching Les Feldick every day since 1995. One of her favorite pastimes was sitting around the piano at home with her family singing old hymns. In her later years, she enjoyed watching Gunsmoke, listening to Gaither music and doing word search puzzles.

She was kind and compassionate and always opened her home to anyone who needed a place to stay. She lived a long happy life, loving and caring for her husband Bur, for seventy-one years, and always looked forward to spending time with her kids, grandkids and great grandkids.

Annie is now home in heaven, dancing with Jesus in her new body.

She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Edith Scuyres; brothers, Herman, Marion, Bob, Charles; sister, Lois Teal; son-in-law, Leon Hahn; and daughters-in-law, Danette Bounds and Karen Bounds.

She is survived by her loving husband, Burlen "Bur" Bounds; children, Kathy Hahn, Mike Bounds and wife Vicki, Bryan Bounds, Mark Bounds and wife Vanasa, Pam Cogbill and husband Al, Kim Gregory and husband Ricky, Anita Malone and husband Daniel; 17 grandchildren; and 27 great grandchildren, along with numerous other relatives and friends,
