Obituary

Anthony (Tony) Joseph Pollizzio (aka William Clark Polley "Bill"), 91 of Livingston, passed away September 18, 2017 at Pine Ridge Health Care, LLP in Livingston, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. on Monday, September 25, 2017 at Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston with Bro. Steve Waldrep officiating. Interment will take place on Wednesday, September 27, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. at Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas.

Anthony (Bill) was born in Wisconsin to Charles Polley and Helen (Gillette) Polley on September 3, 1926. Family history states his parents were in Vaudeville; Anthony (Bill) and his three brothers were a part of the act. His father was a contortionist and his mother was a blues singer. The family settled in Channelview, Texas where he attended 2 years of high school. Anthony (Bill) enlisted in the Army on October 8, 1945, during World War II. He was 19 years old.

On November 20, 1972, William was permitted a court approved name change to Anthony Joseph Pollizzio, which is believed to be a family surname. From that moment on, most people called him Tony.

On May 3, 1973, Tony married Dorothy Mae Littlefair. She was the love of his life. They remained married until her death on February 11, 1980.

Tony was best known for his quick wit and deep love of animals. His favorite joke was a Henny Youngman classic-A Man goes to a psychiatrist. The doctor says, "You're crazy." The man says, "I want a second opinion!" The doctor says, "Okay, you're ugly too!"

If ever there was an apt description of our dad it's this: He floated freely through life, with the wind as his companion. Always free, never encumbered.

Anthony (Tony) is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Helen; three brothers David, Thomas, and Robert; wife Dorothy Mae Pollizzio; ex-wife Billie Jo Killett; ex-wife Patsy Ruth Allen; and lastly, Anthony's oldest daughter Melody Lynn.

Tony is survived by his daughter Linda Lee Lyberg and son-in-law Peter Simon Lyberg of Mesa, Arizona; daughter Jon Helene Strange of Houston, Texas; two granddaughters Tracy L. Villalobos of Cypress, Texas and Heather M. Strange of Houston, Texas; great grandson Justin Corey Palmer and great-great grandson Cash Waylon Palmer.

He's soaring among the stars now.
