Arnold was a double lung transplant survivor, who had an amazing will to not just live, but to live life to its fullest. He lived an additional 13 years because someone was willing to donate their organs to help others. He was an honorable man and very proud of his heritage. He was a successful portrait artist, where he was awarded many blue ribbons and was affiliated with several art leagues, including the Woodville Art League, in his lifetime. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. For 45 years, he was a pipeline welder by profession. Later in life he drove a semi-truck across 48 states. Arnold enjoyed mechanic work; building and rebuilding cars, racing motorcycles, was an inventor and loved carpentry work. He could build anything.
