Funeral services for Barbara Grumann Burriola, 74, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 3, 2018 in the Trinity Lutheran Church in Livingston, Texas with Pastor Mayland officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Barbara Faye Burriola passed away on December 30, 2017 at her home, after a long struggle with cancer. Her loving husband, Tommy, was by her side. She was born on January 8, 1943 to parents, Otto and Faye (Smith) Graumann in Colorado Springs, Colorado. She graduated from Falfurrias High School in 1961. Barbara and Tommy Burriola were married on November 24, 1981 in Premont, Texas.

Barbara was one of the first women to be hired by Exxon Company USA Production, located on the King Ranch, where she retired on January 8, 1991 as a Senior Field Operator. When interview by a local paper, and asked about Womans's Lib, she exclaimed, "I'm not here for Women's Lib, I'm here for the money."

The joys of her life were playing numerous musical instruments, stained glass, and spending time with her family.

Barbara is survived by her loving husband, Tommy Burriola; son, Pete Burriola; daughter, Teresa Thompson and husband, Russell; son, Carl Burriola and wife, Tracy; son, Alan Blumer and wife, Marla; 13 grandchildren; and 1 great-grandchild; along with numerous friends and relatives.
