Funeral services for Barbara Janet Farrar, 83, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Thursday, August 12, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Steve Fredricks officiating. Interment will follow at the Camp Ruby Cemetery. Visitation will be held Wednesday, August 11, 2021, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Farrar was born December 19, 1937 in Wright City, Texas to parents, J.D. Peerson and Clara Mae (Beekman) Peerson, and passed away August 8, 2021 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husbands, Charles Reddicks, Harvey Williams, and Gene Farrar; and sisters, Deloris Kegler and June Jones. During her life, Barbara played a crucial part in the development of the Indian Springs Volunteer Fire Department. They held their first fireman's meeting April 20, 1975 where she was elected as one of their Captains. Barbara was also dispatcher for the 356 Volunteer Fire Department from 1984 - 1986.
She is survived by her daughters, Billie McDonald and husband, Kenneth of Woodville, Texas, Joan Fultz and husband, Peter of Poteau, Oklahoma, Wanda Clements of Humble, Texas, and Susan Gail Piper and husband, James of Livingston, Texas; sons, Mike Reddicks of San Antonio, Texas, and James Reddicks and wife, Crystal of Livingston, Texas; daughters, Sandy Farrar, and Donna Foster and husband, Jimmy all of Livingston, Texas; sisters, Linda Steiner and Sally Peerson both of Livingston, Texas; brother, Donnie Peerson of Livingston, Texas; and 20 grandchildren; along with numerous great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.
