Mrs. Barbara Jean McDonald, 88, of Livingston, Texas was born June 12, 1931 in Everette, Washington to parents, Robert VanPatten and Elisabeth (Turner) VanPatten, and passed away April 18, 2020 in Livingston, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, J.W. "Red" McDonald; son, Michael Jeffries; and sister, Roberta Grayson. During her life, Mrs. McDonald became a friend of Bill W. on November 24, 1984.

She is survived by her daughter, Janet Brown; daughter-in-law, Theresa Jeffries; sister, Mickey Derry; grandchildren, Stephanie Potter and husband, Dan, Theresa Staryak and husband, Paul, and Steven Jeffries and wife, Martha; 8 great-grandchildren; and 5 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and a host of friends.

Mrs. McDonald will have a private family service at a later date. She will be laid to rest with her husband, Red McDonald, in the Houston National Cemetery.
