Funeral services for Bernice Murphy, 88, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, March 22, 2014 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Sherman Hoot officiating. Interment will follow in the Jones Prairie Cemetery in Leggett, Texas. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 21, 2014 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Murphy was born August 25, 1925 in Livingston, Texas to parents, George Edgar Murphy and Nancy Ann (Baxter) Murphy, and passed away Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. She was a nurse's aide for many years. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Clarence Edward Murphy; daughter, Frances Marie McCarver; sons, Edward Earl Murphy and Arnold Ray Murphy; grandson, Justin Dewayne McCarver; brothers, William G. Murphy, Earlie Bergman Murphy, and Jessie James Murphy; sisters, Stella Hamsley, Dovie Hickman, Jewel Brown, Ivey Eaton, Bessie Hoot, and Esther McDowel.

She is survived by her daughter, Stella Mae Murphy of Livingston, Texas; sons, Douglas L. Murphy of Livingston, Texas and Billy Joe Murphy of Arkansas; grandchildren, Verna, Tony, Angie, Lana, Lisa, Daniel, Krychelle, Dewayne, Eva, Jennifer, Michael, Gretchen, Jeremy, and James; 28 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
