Obituary
Mrs. Betty Ann Beckner Powell, 84, of Onalaska, Texas was born October 20, 1932 in Lincoln, Nebraska to parents, Harold Wright and Cecelia (Schaaf) Wright. She was raised by Loren Loneil Beckner and Marietta (Schaaf) Beckner. Betty passed away on March 11, 2017 in Huntsville, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents; Loneill and Marietta Beckner; and husband, Ravell Truman Powell. During her life, Mrs. Powell worked for the Aldine Independent School District, was a member of the Point Blank Community Church in Point Blank, Texas, and was a past member and organist of the Woodland Christian Church of Houston. Betty was also a member of the Onalaska Levis and Lace Square Dance Club.
She is survived by her children, Glenn Ammon Powell and Connie of New Waverly, Texas, Nancy Poole of The Woodlands, Texas, David Loren Powell and Regina of Montgomery, Texas; grandchildren, Captain Melissa Poole-Dubin, US Air Force and LTJG Harris Dubin, US Navy, Matthew and Becca Poole, Ryan Powell, Rachel Powell; step-grandson, Erick Griffen; brothers, Clifford Eugene and Rena Wright of California, and Kenneth Lloyd and Joan Wright of California; sisters-in-law, Arqueta Haynie and Dellene Janson; along with numerous cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
