Obituary

Funeral services for Betty Ann Nicklas, 84, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 18, 2017 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Monday, July 17, 2017 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.

Mrs. Nicklas was born November 29, 1932 in Hapeville, Georgia to parents, William Luther Pennington and Mattie Lee (Griggers) Pennington, and passed away on July 14, 2017 in Conroe, Texas. During her life, Betty drove a city bus for Dallas Transit. She was a member of TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly). Betty met and kept the status of KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) for the last 3 ½ years. She was also a member of Beacon Bay Baptist Church. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Raymond Nicklas; son, Lonnie Wayne Nicklas; grandson, Lonnie Eugene Nickals; brothers, J.L. Pennington and Billy Ray Pennington; and sister, Norma Jean Wilson.

She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Wise and husband, Rowland; son, Eddie Nicklas and wife, Robin; 5 grandchildren; 13 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Esta VanHorn and Shirley Pennington; and step-children, Raymond, Dorothy, and Maxine; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
