Obituary
Funeral services for Bettye Faye "Tibbs" Oliver, 74, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, April 24, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Blanchard Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas. Interment will follow in the Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday, April 23, 2015 beginning at 5:00 p.m. in Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Oliver was born August 29, 1940 in Houston, Texas to parents, Earnest Dewey Tibbs and Minnie Azilea (Stein) Tibbs, and passed away April 20, 2015 in Lufkin, Texas. She lived in Livingston since 1980. Bettye was known as a strong, independent lady who was also a loving and caring mother and wife. She also loved her church family. She is preceded in death by her parents; and brother, Larry Eugene Tibbs.
She is survived by her husband, Johnnie Oliver of Livingston, Texas; sons, Jerry Oliver and John Oliver both of Livingston, Texas; four grandchildren, sister, Jeanene Konviska of South Houston, Texas; sister-in-law, Ruby Mae Tibbs of Onalaska, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
