Obituary
Funeral services for Billie Joyce Brown, age 84, of Lake Barrington, IL, will be Thursday, April 3, 2008 at 2:00PM in the Chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Tx. Rev. Don Wilkey will be officicating. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park in Livingston, Tx.
She was born April 26, 1923 in Vernon, Tx. She was the adopted daughter of William Bowden Ponder and Blanche Buchanan Ponder.
She graduated from Hardin-Simmons University in 1944 with a BsS Degree in Education. Mrs. Brown taught high school in Colorado City, Texas and Midland, Texas. She worked in the Dean''s Offices of Hardin-Simmons University and The University of Houston. During the 1960''s, she served as Executive Director of the Texas Association of Student Councils. Mrs. Brown retired in 1986.
She is survived by Cynthia and Ronals Jones, daughter and son-in-law, of North Barrington,IL, Leshia Hoot, granddaughter of Austin, Tx, Eric and Carrie Jones, grandson and wife of Chicago, IL, Ryan and Pascuala Jones, grandson and wife of Buffalo Grove, IL, Mark and Kristy Jones, grandson adn wife of Cary, IL, and Thomas Hoot son in law of Dallas,Tx. She is also survived by great-grandchildren, Anabel Jones, Keaton Jones, and Cameron Jones.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Onalaska First Baptist Church, the Parkinson''s Disease Foundation or the National Multiple Sclerosis Society
