Billy Joe Ellis passed away February 10, 2021 at the age of 91. He was born February 21, 1929 in Livingston, Texas and lived there until 1953 when he moved to Baytown, Texas where he raised his two children and started his own business, Ellis Tractor Service. During the Korean War, he served in the Army for two years, 1951-1953. A portion of his service time was spent in Korea. He was honorably discharged in February, 1953. In 1959, he bought his own equipment and started doing contract work for companies in the Baytown area. Bill was a man who took great pride in his small company and had excellent work ethics. He always went the next mile to do excellent work for all his clients. Besides enjoying his work and his company, Bill loved his horses and boats. He would gather his own two children and many neighborhood kids and away they would go to boat ride and ski in Roseland Park. He and Cyndi and Rick also enjoyed many trail rides with other families where they "camped out" in the back of the pickup truck. Rick and his dad also enjoyed many excursions with Rick racing with the wind on his dirt bike. In 1976, he and his wife, Effie, bought a home in Highlands, Texas. After Effie passed away, Bill lived the rest of his life in his home, with the exception of the last year and a half, when he went to live with Cyndi and Richard.
Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Joe Ellis and Verna Dean Brewer; son, Rick and wife Tammy; daughter, Cyndi and husband Richard; sisters, Clara Joyce and Wanda Lou and their children; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
