Billy Isaac Stutts, Sr., age 78 of Goodrich, Texas, passed away on November 1, 2012, at his home in Goodrich, Texas. He was born on November 23, 1933 in Onalaska, Texas, to parents, Howard Woodbury Stutts, and Blythe Mozelle Vaughan Stutts. Billy married Phyllis Mae Kirsch on June 5, 1954, in Houston, Texas. He was a member of Onalaska Baptist Church and a lifetime Honorary Fireman of Onalaska Voluntary Fire Department.
Billy is preceded in death by his parents H. W. and Blythe Stutts; sisters, LaVaun Smith, Janice Angle, Baby Marilyn Stutts; brothers, Jack Stutts and Chipper Stutts; great granddaughter, Cierra McCoy; mother-in-law, Edith Kirsch and father-in-law, Earl Kirsch. He is survived by his beloved wife, Phyllis Mae Stutts of Goodrich, Texas; son, Billy Isaac Stutts, Jr. and his wife, Emma Stutts of Goodrich, Texas; daughter, Harriett Stutts Hales and husband Jay F. Hales of Livingston, Texas; grandson, Jay F. Hales, II and his wife Leala Hales of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Amanda Stutts McCoy of Goodrich, Texas; granddaughter, Jacinda Hales Lewis and husband, Billy Joe Lewis of Livingston, Texas; granddaughter, Carrie Stutts Gibbs and fianc??, Levi Willson of Livingston; grandson, Brian Glen Burks of Ft. Riley, Kansas; grandson, J.J. Burks and fianc??, Amie Farrington of Big Sandy, Texas; fourteen great grandchildren; three brothers, Bob Stutts and wife, Jimmie Jo, Austin Stutts and wife, Shirley, and Juke Stutts and wife, Carol Ann, all of Onalaska, Texas; sister-in-law, Joan Strong of Goodrich, Texas; brother-in-law, David Kirsch and wife, Helen of Ft. Edwards, NY; and sister-in-law, Kathy Key and husband, Gene of Livingston, Texas; and Gus.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM on Monday, November 5, 2012 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas. Rev. Dennis Hodge will conduct the services. Pallbearers are Howard W. Smith, Kevin Smith, David Cunningham, Raymond Bishop, Doyle Hodge and Ronnie Hodge. Honorary pallbearers are James B. Bishop, Jay Stutts, Howard A. Smith, Steve Spangle, Ray Spangle, Johnny Ray Burnett, Teddy Koska and James Thompson.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Sunday, November 4, 2012, at Cochran' Chapel in Onalaska, Texas.
