Funeral services for Bishop Gerald Francis Reeves, 86, of Trinity, Texas, will be held Saturday, February 18, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. at the Revival Center Church of God in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Robert Cannon, Rev. Kevin Kleinhenz, Rev. Clay Duckworth and Bishop Tim Brown officiating. Interment will follow in the Eastern Gate Cemetery in Trinity, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, February 17, 2017 from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. in the Revival Center Church of God in Onalaska, Texas.
Bishop Reeves was born March 9, 1930 in Trinity, Texas to parents, Robert Reeves and Lela (Blair) Reeves, and went to be with the Lord on February 10, 2017 in Lufkin, Texas. During his life, Bishop Reeves served the Lord faithfully since the age of 13 when he held his first revival in Trinity, Texas. He loved God and people, and was a defender and inspiration to the youth. He always looked for the good in everyone, and loved playing his mandolin and raising bantam chickens. He is preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife of 59 years, Doris Johnson Reeves; brothers, Robert Leonard Jr., Allen Fate, Doyal Wayne, Billy Ray and Dwight Douglas.
He is survived by his daughter, Kathy Fresquez and husband, Louis; son, Jack Reeves and wife, Renee; grandchildren, Gerry Solomon and wife, Kasey, Natalie Kinder and husband, Rodger, Philip Solomon, Lauren Haggie, Emily Fresquez, and Hannah Fresquez; 7 great-grandchildren; brothers, Calvin Edelle and E. Armon; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
