Funeral services for Blanche Mae Withers, 75, of Lefors, Texas, will be held Saturday, August 2, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. in the Pleasant Hill United Methodist Church in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Rickey Withers, Rev. Nicholas Withers and Pastor John Moye officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, August 1, 2014 beginning at 5:00 in the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Heaven received an angel today, our loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and devoted friend. Blanche was born in Campti, Louisiana on October 1, 1938 to Walter and Ruby (Plunkett) Woods. She married Henry Withers Jr. on October 29, 1951. Blanche loved caring for others. She worked in nursing for many years, but her true passion was family. Blanche is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son Jerry Withers. Psalms 62: "My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken".
She is survived by her son, Bruce Withers and wife Ruth of Lefors, Texas; daughter-in-law, Kathy Withers of Huntsville, Texas; son, Mike Withers and wife DeAnna of Trinity, Texas; daughter, Diana Jackson and husband Russell of Amarillo, Texas; son Rickey Withers and wife Shunitia of Livingston, Texas; 20 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; sister, Helen Elledge of Coushatta, Louisiana; and numerous other relatives and friends.
