Funeral services for Buddy R. "Bob" Stutts, 90, of Onalaska, Texas, will be held Saturday, December 4, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at the Pine Forest Baptist Church with Dennis Hodge officiating. Interment will follow at the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska, Texas. Visitation will be held Friday, December 3, 2021, from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m., in the Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas.
Bob was born January 29, 1931 in Huntsville, Texas, to parents, Howard Woodbury Stutts and Blythe Mozel (Vaughan) Stutts and passed away November 26, 2021 in Onalaska, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers; and 2 sisters.
Mr. Stutts proudly served his country as a United States Army Corporal from 1952 - 1954 and fought in the Korean War. After the military, Bob was a Deacon and the Music Director of his church and truly loved to sing. In 1973, Bob helped establish the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department where he remained as an active member for 48 years. He was voted Fireman of the Year and also Citizen of the Year. Bob graduated from the University of Houston, worked with the Southern Baptist Disaster Relief Program, served on the School Board and the Water Board and numerous organizations.
Bob is survived by his wife of 67 year, Jimmie Jo (Powell) Stutts of Onalaska, Texas; daughters, Teresa Watts of Onalaska, Texas, Dianna Duke and Tommy of Livingston, Texas; son, T.D. Jennings and Amber of Onalaska, Texas; daughter, Heather Cain and Chris of Onalaska, Texas; 7 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; and 2 great-great-grandchildren; along with numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In lieu of flower, donations may be made to the Onalaska Volunteer Fire Department or Pine Forest Baptist Church.
