Obituary

Funeral Services for Bobby Ray Cox, Sr., age 77, of Livingston, Texas, will be held at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 16, 2012 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Michael Heuermann and Wyndell Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Thursday evening from 5:00 P.M.-9:00 P.M. Pallbearers are Billy Wayne Cox, Jr., WT Brothers, J.W. Epstein, Tyler Epstein, Larry McNulty, and Steven Harker. Honorary Pallbearers are Billy Coley, Floyd Nettles, Billy Simmons, Robert Simmons, and The Men' Sunday School Class of Providence.

Bobby was born November 17, 1934 in Livingston, Texas the son of William Calvin Cox and Sarah Celeste (Hendrix) Cox and passed away March 12, 2012 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, William Calvin Cox and Sarah Celeste (Hendrix) Cox; siblings, Donald Cox, Del Cox, Helen Cox Mc Nulty, and Mary Cox Simmons.

He was raised in Livingston, where he met and married his wife of 56 years, Shirley (Simmons) Cox. Bobby spent his career employed by Ocean Drilling and Exploration Co., a subsidiary of Murphy Oil and after 37 successful years he retired in 1994.

Bobby is survived by his wife, Shirley Cox of Livingston; children, Carole Cox Perry and husband Don of Highlands, Cathy Cox Nettles of Livingston, Carrie Cox Hamilton of Livingston, Carla Cox Webb of Spring, and Bobby Cox, Jr. and wife, Karen of Livingston; grandchildren, Wyndell Hamilton and wife, Lee Ann, Jason McDonald and wife, Miranda, Ginger Hamilton Burk and husband, Sam, Amanda Haynes, Erica McDonald, Shandi Nettles, Emily McDonald, Bruce Webb, Jr., Luke Webb, Arlen Phillips and wife, Stephanie, Zachary Cox, and Hayden Cox; great grandchildren, Micah McDonald, Hudson Hamilton, Andrew Burk, Eva West, Caroline Burk, Brayden Phillips, and Brody Phillips; brother and sister-in-law, Billy Wayne and Sarah Cox. Numerous other relatives and friends also survive.
