Bobby Joe Lowe

Bobby Joe Lowe was born in Goodrich, Texas on February 3, 1938. The old Flowers Hospital was undergoing renovations so the doctor and nurse delivered him in the family home. He grew up on a black land farm in the Trinity River bottom where his father raised cotton and cattle. He attended the Goodrich school where he made many lifelong friends.

After graduating from high school, Bobby moved to Houston, Texas to work. But he still spent his weekends in Goodrich and married a Goodrich girl Annette Dominy in 1958. At the time of his death, they had been married sixty-seven years. They were blessed with two sons and four grandchildren in whom they delighted. After they retired, they moved back to Polk County to spend the rest of their lives.

Living near Livingston, Bobby soon joined two groups. The first one was the First Baptist Church of Livingston and the second one was the early morning coffee club at Brookshire Brothers. Except for Sunday morning which was reserved for church services, Bobby seldom missed getting together with other retired men and discussing everything happening in Polk County, Texas.

Bobby Lowe passed away at his home on April 25, 2026 surrounded by his family. He was predeceased in death by his parents Rosa Lee Williams and Clinton Lowe and by his two brothers Ray and Dan Lowe. He is survived by his wife Annette Dominy Lowe and by his two sons and wives Randall and Rhonda Lowe and Gary and Felicia Lowe. He is also survived by his grandchildren Nathan, James, Garrison and Faith Lowe, and step-grandchildren Reid and Shaye Felchak, and Stephanie Ogdahl.

Funeral services for Bobby will be held at the Cochran Funeral Home on April 27, 2026. Visitation will begin at 1:30 p.m. to be followed by the funeral service at 2:30 p.m. He will be laid to rest in the Peebles Cemetery where four generations of his family are buried.
