Obituary

Funeral services for Bradley "Nick" Battise, 44, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 10:00 AM, Thursday, July 17, 2014 at the Alabama-Coushatta Multi-Purpose Center with Rev. David Busby officiating. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery. Visitation will be held at 6:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2014, also at the Multi-Purpose Center.

Mr. Battise was born on December 28, 1969 in Woodville, Texas and passed away on July 13, 2014 in Livingston, Texas. He loved to play youth baseball and softball in his later years. He is a 19 year veteran of the Alabama-Coushatta Volunteer Fire Department. He was an avid fan of Big Sandy basketball and Native Pride and he always supported any activities in which his children were involved. He is preceded in death by his parents, Judson Battise and Moree (Sylestine) Poncho; brothers, Randall L. Battise and Tracy E. Battise; sister, Mary E. Alec; grandparents, Harry and Doris Sylestine and Ashley and Bessie Battise; uncles and aunts, Alton Sylestine and Terry Sylestine, Thurman Battise, Imogene Sylestine, Denise Sylestine, Lillian Battise, and Margorie Sylestine.

He is survived by his daughter, Tahwnee Williams of Livingston, Texas; son, Christian Thompson of Livingston, Texas; son, Bryce Norwood Battise of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Taleah S. Battise of Livingston, Texas; mother of his children, Victoria (Williams) Battise; mother-in-law, Wanonia Clark; sisters, Phyllis R. (Battise) Richard of Livingston, Texas and Janice Battise of Savannah, Georgia, and Sherri Aldaco; step-father, Floyd Poncho of Livingston, Texas; uncle, Thomas Sylestine of Austin, Texas; aunts, Joann and Arnold Battise of Livingston, Texas and Carol and Donnis Battise of Livingston, Texas; great-aunts, Isabelle Celestine of Houston, Texas and Weaver Battise of Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Battise will be escorted to his grave by the Alabama-Coushatta Fire Department.
