Funeral services for Brenda J. Thompson, 72, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Sunday, February 22, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the First Texas Indian Baptist Church, on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Interment will follow in the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2015 beginning at 6:00 p.m. in First Texas Indian Baptist Church in Livingston, Texas.
Mrs. Thompson was born April 1, 1942 in Polk County, Texas on the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation to parents, Peter Sanders Williams and Dedie Beatrice (Henderson) Williams, and passed away February 19, 2015 at her home on the Reservation in Livingston, Texas. She was a member of the Beaver Clan. She loved to sew, quilt, cook, and take care of children. She also enjoyed sports but most of all her grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents; grandchildren, Kristi Thompson and Chastity Thompson; brother, Perry D. Williams; nephew, Bradley Walker; and brother-in-law, Mack Walker.
She is survived by her husband; Joe Thomas of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation; daughter, Trisha Rust and Jeremiah of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation; sons, Van Thompson, Craig Thompson, and Burt Thompson all of the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation; grandchildren, Jessica and Stewart, Janai, Gilbert, Alexis, Cayley, Liza, Shyler, Shayleen; great grandchildren, Naaman, Trent, Jaycie, Aleia, Savanna, Shanaya, Ciarra, Ranalyn, Naki, Naylan, and Myla; great-great grandchildren, Bree and Hooper; sister, Judith Walker; brothers, Leslie Williams and Maryllis, Larry Williams and Pam, and Gene Williams Sr.; sister-in-law, Darlene Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
