Obituary

Dr. Bruce Sterling Thomas 91 of Livingston passed away Sunday May 11, 2008. Memorial services will be held Wednesday May 14, 2008 at 10:00AM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. James Frazier officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date at the Houston National Cemetery. Military Honors will be given at funeral by VFW Post #8568.

Dr. Thomas was born on June 16, 1916 in Henry Clay, Pa., to parents J. Marshal and Gertrude Workman Thomas. He served our county proudly during WWII, receiving the European African, Middle Eastern Campaign Metal, Good Conduct Metal, WWII Victory Medal and the American Campaign Medal. After getting out of the military Dr. Thomas attended the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago, Il. He then had a private practice for 45 years in Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin.

Bruce was a avid deer hunter. And was also a proud member of the Masonic Lodge #794 in Fredericksburg, Tx.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Palmer Thomas and Paul Thomas sister Dorthea Magee.

He is survived by his wife of 62 years Flora Mae Thomas of Livingston, and his sister in law and brother in law Elinor and Henry Edenfield of Livingston. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and dear friends.
