Buddy Q. Whitted
March 29, 1930 - October 19, 2022
A memorial service for Buddy Q. Whitted, 92, of Phenix City, Alabama, will be held Saturday, December 3, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.
Buddy and his wife, Rena Nix, of 51 years moved from their birth place Canton, N.C. to Pasadena, TX in 1949 where Buddy started a 37 year career with Champion Paper and raised four children. After Champion, he worked in sales and consulting in the paper industry, where he gained great friendship and respect of his peers. Buddy's life revolved around his family. His devotion as a father, grandfather, and great grandfather was evident in his persistent presence and involvement. He was an outgoing and generous man. Buddy never met a stranger, no matter where; he would help anyone in need and if you hung around him long enough, you inherited a nickname
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was an active member of the Champion Supervisors Rod and Gun Club, commonly known as "The Deer Camp". Here he gained many cherished friendships and fond memories over the years. As a high school football athlete himself, he enjoyed watching his beloved Houston Texans, A&M Aggies, and following college basketball. He lived his last five years in Phenix City, AL. with his daughter and son-in-law where he could be cared for and enjoy the company of some of his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Buddy is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Rena, of 51 years; daughter, Phyllis Ann; parents, G.H. and Rettie Whitted; sister, Martha Ivens; and brother, Billy.

Whitted and wife Barbara of Pace, FL; daughter Nancy Whitted-Nevill and husband Billy S. of Phenix City, AL; son, Keith E.
