Buford Clyde Collier 72 of Livingston passed away Thursday May 28, 2009. Funeral services will be held in his honor Monday June 1, 2009 at 10:00AM in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Goodwin officiating. Burial will follow in the Peebles Cemetery with Military Honors to be given by VFW Post #8568.
Buford was born June 5, 1936 in St. Charles, Va, to parents Kelly Collier and Zelma Farmer Collier. He proudly served our country in the United States Army and in the Coast Guard. Buford was a truck driver for 51 years, he worked for Joe Clifton Trucking and was accidnent free for all those years.
He is preceded in death by his parents, son Buford Clyde Collier Jr., grandson Charlie Deary, brothers Harry Collier, Harold Collier,Howard Collier, and half sister Letha Collier.
Buford is survived by his wife Judy Walker Collier of Livingston, children Betty Collier of Tennessee, Earl Collier of Illinois, Jeff Richards of Conroe, Mark Collier of Houston, Glenn Collier of Virginia, Grady Richards of Ohio, Rebecca Ward of Illinois, Novella Blossom of San Leon, Laura Watson of Alabama, Debbie Adney of Maryland, and Jim Walker of Livingston. He is also survived by his siblings Jack Collier of Virginia, Bobby Collier of Virginia, Billie Collier of Virginia and half sister Glennis Collier of Tennessee. Twenty two grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren also survive him, along with his sidekick Prissy.
Serving as pallbearers will be Jerry Wayne Cassity, Jerry Grissom, Robert Deary, Earl Ray Collier, Jim Walker, Joe Clifton Jr., Ben Nettles, Miles Richards. Honorary pallbearers will be Bill Wiggins, Bob Scharnhorst, Tom Smith, Rich Hamilton, Buck Johnson, Dale Cross, Tim LeFlay, Joe Clifton Sr., Jim Benton, Jimmy Cassity, Charles Warner and Charles Richardson.
