IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Buford Ray
Polvadore
November 8, 1933 – January 12, 2022
Funeral services for Buford Ray Polvadore, 88, of Houston, Texas will be held Monday, January 24, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Mitchell Murphy officiating. Interment will follow in the Bluff Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service begins at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home.
Mr. Polvadore was born November 8, 1933 in Wink, Texas to parents, Willie D. Polvadore and Cora (Channell) Polvadore, and passed away peacefully on January 12, 2022 in Houston, Texas with his wife at his side. He is preceded in death by his parents, and sons, Tony Polvadore and Gary Polvadore. Buford and his family moved to Livingston when he was a young man. He graduated from Livingston High School and proceeded to go to Sam Houston Teacher's College (later known as Sam Houston State University) and achieved a Bachelor's Degree in Physics. He worked for Brown & Root as a draftsman until he retired. He took up Substitute Teaching so he could keep busy during his retirement and so that he could be closer to his wife, Mary, who was a teacher herself.
Buford enjoyed traveling and was an avid outdoorsman. He loved spending time with his family. He shared his love of fishing and hunting with his kids by teaching them to appreciate the outdoors at a very young age. He especially loved his yearly trips in the summer to Colorado or Missouri to go fishing for rainbow trout. He spent a lifetime providing for his family and sharing his love. Buford was a man of little words but his actions spoke volumes.
He is survived by his wife, Mary Ethel Polvadore of Houston, Texas; daughter, Kathy Tickle and husband, Roger of Cypress, Texas; sister, Katie Calvery of Farmington, New Mexico; and brother, James Polvadore and wife, JoAnn of Fort Worth, Texas.
Pallbearers: Roger Tickle, Jr, David Tickle, Charlie Cox, Brandon Blount, Pat Savage, Bobby Ledet
