Services for Carolyn Peak Burnet, 70, of Katy will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, April 4, 2011, in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, with Charles Stuart, pastor of the Living Word Church of the Nazarene of Houston, officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Memorial Cemetery near Livingston.
Visitation will begin at 9 a.m. Monday at Cochran Funeral Home.
Mrs. Burnet died Thursday, March 31, 2011, in Memorial Hermann Hospital -- Katy.
She was born Oct. 24, 1940, in Prior, Okla., the daughter of the late Edward and Clara Peak of Leggett. She was a homemaker, mother and grandmother. She resided for most of her life in Colorado, where she helped operate a family farm and where she served as a member of the Bennett, Colo. school board.?áShe moved to Houston in 1979 and was retired from the accounting department of Clear Channel Outdoor Communications in Houston.
Mrs. Burnet was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Robert E. Peak.
Survivors include a daughter and her spouse, Barbara and John Bang of Bellville; three sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Bonnie Neely, Ty Burnet and Clint Burnet, all of Bennett, Colo.; a sister and her spouse, Rosemary and Clifford Rosser of Houston; a brother, Gregory Peak of Livingston; seven grandchildren, Ann Bang of Greeley, Colo., Ensign Heather Wilkins of Norfolk, Va., Monica Bang of Bellville, Ashley Burnet, Holly Burnet, Zach Burnet, all of Denver, Colo., and Heidi Burnet of
Scottsbluff, Neb; four great-grandchildren, Parker and Grayson Dees, both of Bellville and Ily and Layton Burnet, both of Denver, Colo.; and a number of nieces and nephews.
