Funeral services for Carolyn Faye Lorraine Hempsted, age 65, of Onalaska, Texas, will be Monday, February 14, 2011 at Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Onalaska, Texas at 10:00 AM with Rev. Don Wilson officiating. Interment will take place in the Brookside Cemetery in Houston, Texas at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 14, 2011. Visitation is Sunday, from 5:00 PM-9:00 PM.

She was born May 5, 1945 in Houston, Texas the daughter of John Robert Fletcher and Jennie Curtis Fletcher and passed away February 10, 2011 at her home in Onalaska, Texas. She is preceded in death by her parents, children, Deborah and Richard Hempsted, brothers and sisters, Mary and Herbert Sullivan, and Leon Fletcher.

Carolyn obtained her LVN certification from Tyler County Hospital in Woodville, Texas. She worked as an LVN for the Livingston Hospital, TDCJ, and Polk County. Her most recent profession was being a devoted housewife and caregiver to her husband, Roger. She was an active member of the Onalaska Lioness Club and the Onalaska Jr. / Sr. High Band Boosters.

She is survived by Roger Hempsted, husband of Onalaska, Teresa and Monty Wilson, daughter and son in law of Kingwood, Randy Hempsted, son of Boise, Idaho, grandchildren, Roger Dennis Hempsted, Tiffany Khorrami, Nicholas Khorrami, Sarah Merrill, Holly Rockwell, great grandchild, Arielle, brothers and sisters, Robert and Sue Fletcher, William and Emily Fletcher, Clara, Pauline and Johnnie Faye. Numerous other nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends also survive.
