Cecil Lang Alec, Sr., age 68 of Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation, Texas, passed away on February 25, 2013, in Livingston, Texas. He was born on April 20, 1944, in Polk County, Texas, to parents Kinney Alec and Anna belle Sylestine Alec. Cecil was a member of the Indian Village Assembly of God Church.
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Avie Sylestine Alec; brother, Carl Alec; and sister, Mabel Williams. Cecil is survived by son and daughter-in-law, Obrey and Mary Alec of the Reservation; son and daughter-in-law, Lyndon and Rebecca Alec of Livingston, Texas; Cecil, Jr. and Charlene Alec of Livingston, Texas; daughter, Paula Alec of Woodville, Texas; son and daughter-in-law, Fred and Donna Alec of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Tobine Alec, Logan Alec, Portia Alec, Ryan Alec, Sunshine Alec, Chad Alec, Kiney Alec, Jordan Dow, Micah Robinson, Manning Robinson, Lorna Alec, Kainey Alec and Lincoln Alec; great grandchildren, Lilly-Ann Alec, Dakota Alec, Josiah Alec, Adelyn Dow, Anthony Dow, Ciarra Robinson, Aiylah Robinson and Miyakoda Robinson; and special friends, Iris Fern Williams of the Reservation, and Dario Garcia of the Reservation.
Funeral services for Mr. Alec will be held at 10:00 AM on Thursday, February 28, 2013, at the Indian Reservation Assembly of God Church in Polk County, Texas. Rev. David Busby will conduct the services. Pallbearers are Tobine Alec, Logan Alec, Ryan Alec, Chad Alec, Kinney Alec, Micah Robinson, Manning Robinson, Kainey Alec and Lincoln Alec. Internment will follow the church service at the Alabama-Coushatta Indian Reservation Cemetery at the Indian Reservation.
Visitation will begin at 5:00 PM on Wednesday, February 27, 2013, at the Indian Reservation Assembly of God Church in Polk County, Texas.
