Chap Cain Poncho 81 of Livingston passed away Saturday July 11, 2009 in Houston. Funeral services will be held Wednesday July 15, 2009 at 11:00AM in the Indian Village Assembly Of God Church with Rev. David Busby and Rev. Darrell Surface officiating. Burial will follow in the Indian Reservation Cemetery with Military Honors given by VFW Post #8568. Visitation will be Tuesday July 14, 2009 from 5:00PM until 9:00PM at the church.
Chap was born August 20, 1927 in Livingston to parents Falson David Poncho and Taia John Poncho. He was a proud United States Veteran serving in the United States Army during Korea. He was also a member of the Poncho Family Gospel Group and played the guitar for the church for many years. He is preceded in death by his wife Wanda Johnson Poncho and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter Minerva Ruiez and husband Javier of the Livingston, sisters Ruthie Padilla of Pasadena, Lenora Williams of Livingston, and Jennie Thompson of Livingston, brothers Robert Poncho of Livingston, Elwin Poncho of Spurger, Marion Poncho of Woodville, and Needham Poncho of Livingston. He is also survived by his grandchildren Alicia Ruiz, Jonathon Ruiez, Maricela Ruiez, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Serving as pallbearers will be Roby Williams, Clinton Williams, Stewart Poncho, Richard Thompson,Marcus Thompson, and Eric Poncho.
