Charles Robert Claunch (Rob), 65, resident of Houston, Texas, he lost his courageous battle with cancer on Wednesday September 21, 2022, surrounded by his loved ones.  He was born in Whittier, California to proud and loving parents on December 21, 1956.   The family moved to Texas during Rob's senior year.  Rob followed after graduating from California High School in 1975.

He worked 40+ years in the Information Technology industry for Halliburton, Brown and Root, Shell Trading and Foster Wheeler.

Rob enjoyed spending time with family and friends, dirt bike racing, target shooting, traveling and camping trips.  He visited several countries during his IT career.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles "Chuck" Claunch and Carol A. McDermott, and his oldest granddaughter, Kylie Fisher.

Rob leaves behind to cherish a lifetime of memories, his wife, Melissa Claunch, daughters Sarah Claunch, Ashlyn Claunch and Lauren Claunch, his granddaughters, Taryn Beard and Addy Beard, his brothers, Thomas Claunch and wife Bekki, Todd Claunch and wife Courtney, his sister, Lisa Monroe and husband Joe.  His best friend, Todd Miller and wife Teresa, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Rob and Melissa called the Houston area home for 26 years.

Being a "Big Dad" came naturally to Rob. His grandkids loved him dearly and enjoyed many a family get together.  He loved grilling or cooking something up on the weekends, playing dominos or just sitting and visiting with his kids and grandkids.

His family and friends are invited to share happy memories and celebrate Roberts' life in the way he would want to be remembered - as a loving and caring man who enjoyed life.

A private Celebration of Life will be held for Robert Claunch, at the home of Tom & Bekki Claunch in Dayton, Texas on Sunday, October 2, 2022.
