Charles Nelson Phillips

Charles Nelson Phillips, 76, of Onalaska, Texas was born November 26, 1949, in Liberty County, Texas and passed away July 22, 2026, in Conroe, Texas. He was preceded in death by his parents, Arlis Phillips and Joyce (Clark) Phillips; and sister, Belinda Gilmore and husband B.J.

Charles, who graduated from Galena Park High School in 1969 and was a United States Air Force veteran, had many hobbies which included supporting the Houston Astros and Houston Texans, golfing, fishing, going to Garner State Park, and road trips. Every afternoon he would give treats to the neighbors dog and have a Coke float.

He is survived by his wife, Annette Hudson-Phillips; sister, Arlla Nafegar and husband Bill; son, Clay Phillips and wife Cassie; daughter, Melissa Keys and husband Darwin; son, Brandon Phillips; grandchildren, Brady Phillips and Violet Phillips; stepdaughter, Tina Estes and husband Chad; stepson, C.L. Hudson and wife Amy; step-grandchildren, Abby Hudson, Caleb Hudson, Kate Estes, and Ellie Estes; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousin, other relatives and friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Garner State Park or to the V.A. in Charles’ honor.
