Funeral services for Charles Edward Sims age 74 of Shepherd, Texas will be held Wednesday October 6, 2010 in the chapel of Cochran Funeral Home in Onalaska, Texas with Rev. Dennis Hodge officiating and interment to follow in the Magnolia Cemetery in Onalaska. Pallbearers will be Mike Atkinson, Jeremy Atkinson, Steven Atkinson, Joel Smith, Joel Gilmore and Tony Smith.

He was born July 30, 1936 in West, Texas the son of Sam & Ruby Connell Sims and passed away October 1, 2010 in Lufkin, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, his brother, Bill Sims and sister, Maudie Walters.

He is survived by his wife, Bertha Sims of Shepherd, Texas, Toni & Wayne Atkinson, daughter & son in law of Onalaska, Sharon & Harold Beeson, daughter & son in law of Cleveland, Texas, Joel Gilmore, son of New Caney, Texas, Nina & Terry Bruton, daughter & son in law of Cleveland, Texas, Helen & Doug Brewer, sister & brother in law, of Ellinger, Texas, Mary Moore, sister of Waco, Texas, James & Carolyn Sims, brother & sister in law of South Carolina, Donald & Paula Sims, brother & sister in law of Patton Village, Texas, 16 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren and a host of other relatives and friends also survive.
