Graveside services will be held for Charles (Charlie) Elton Willson at 4 pm on Sunday, October 24, 2021 at Holhausen Darby Cemetery in Moscow, Texas.
Charlie was born on October 9, 1940 in Polk County, Texas to John Bailey Willson and Zelma Mae Wagner Willson, and died on Thursday October 21, 2021 at his residence in Moscow, Texas. He married Shirley Goldman from Livingston on July 15, 1965. He lived his entire life in Polk County.
Charlie owned and operated his own logging business for 16 years, worked in the oilfield industry for 8 years and then finished his career as a heavy equipment operator until his retirement. He managed Bear Creek Hunting Club in Polk County for almost 50 years. He loved the outdoors, hunting and fishing were his passion. He loved his family and he loved just to talk with people, he never met a stranger. He was the youngest of 9 children and loved spending time with his very large extended family.
Charlie was preceded in death by his parents and his 3 sisters and 5 brothers.
Charlie is survived by his wife, Shirley Willson of Moscow; son Charles Willson Jr and wife Sandra of Lufkin; son Steven Willson of Houston/San Antonio; granddaughter Haley Willson of Lufkin; nephew Sam Willson and wife Shelly, great nieces and nephew Bailey, Trace and Katy all of Moscow; nephew Will Willson of Moscow; and other adored nieces and nephews.
