Born in Beaumont, Texas on February 9, 1930 she passed away Wednesday, November 13, 2013 surrounded by family in the New Willard Community of Polk County. Daughter of Henry and Arretta Bracewell. The family moved to Livingston where she attended school, grew up and raised two families. In 1945 she married "Moon" Alexander and they had three children "Buddy" Alexander, Shirley Duff, and Cynthia Moye. After the loss of her sister, Martha Gibbs, in 1973 she took on the job of taking care of her children. In 1980 while she cared for them: Georgia Williams, JoAnn Ramirez, Marty Gibbs, and Theresa Schrock, she also took on caring for "Moon's" sister Louise Harper who had suffered from a stroke and needed continuous help for day to day living. Later she would take care of her own mother Arretta until she passed in 1999.

Always ready to help anyone and give whatever she could, she will always be remembered for the kindness and generosity she had shone throughout her life.
