IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Claudia Mae
Freeland
August 15, 1939 – February 1, 2023
Early in the morning of February 1st, Heaven welcomed a beautiful soul. To know her was to love her. Our hearts will ache in her absence, but as we mourn, we find peace in knowing she is with Jesus and all those that went before her. She will be remembered for unconditional love and her zest for life. She was contagious, in all the best ways. Claudia and her husband Larry enjoyed being part of the family owned business, Freeland Pet Shops. Later, they owned and operated Pearland Jewelry and Pawn. After her beloved husband passed away in 2006, Claudia was a favorite in-house substitute at ASSETS Academy in Alvin ISD. This allowed her to continue touching many lives. She made lifelong relationships that filled her with the greatest joy. Everyone…staff, students, and even some parents…called her "Grandma" because it just fit. Her love transcended any DNA. Claudia was passionate about football, food, and people (especially her grandbabies). After suffering several strokes, Claudia cherished the ability to communicate through her iPad. This is where she could keep in touch with everyone on Facebook, and send an onslaught of emojis, just so you knew she cared.
Above all though, she was passionate about God. She attended Calvary Chapel in Friendswood for many years. When she moved with her daughter to the lake, she continued to watch and worship virtually with Pastor Ron. The celebration of her life will be held in the coming weeks. Details forthcoming.
She is preceded in death by her parents and Ruby and Leroy Terry; husband, Larry Freeland; daughter, SuJan Freeland; sister, LaJuan Brockermeyer; brother, Donald Preuninger; sister-in-law, Sue Rains; granddaughter, Meredith Freeland; and great grandson, Samuel Stack.

A celebration of life will be held Friday, February 17th at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Church: 3700 FM 528, Friendswood, Texas 77546.
