Obituary
Funeral services for Rev. Clifton Chatmon, 87, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Saturday, August 29, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. in the Livingston Church of God In Christ Church in Livingston, Texas with Bishop Rayford Chimney officiating. Interment will follow in the Victory Place Cemetery in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will begin at 9:00 a.m. until service begins.
Mr. Chatmon was born November 18, 1927 in Polk County, Texas to parents, Joe and Rachel Chatmon, and passed away August 21, 2015 in New Waverly, Texas. During his life, he was the Pastor of the Spring Hill Baptist Church and the Church of Pontiact Michigan. He will be remembered as a God fearing man. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Carolyn Mary Chatmon; 7 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by daughter, Nurtashier Chatmon-Smith of Hammond, Indiana; nieces, Marie Bennett of Livingston, Texas; Greta Jeffery of Rosharon, Texas; Linda Superville of Houston, Texas; La Vern Blakes of Houston, Texas, Janice Darden of Houston, Texas, Ursula Davis of Houston, Texas, Alexxus Jeffery of Rosharon, Texas, Kathy Lang of Houston, Texas; nephews, Mashaw Bennett of Livingston, Texas, Christopher Miles of Livingston, Texas, Melvin Bennett of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jerome Lang of Shreveport, Louisiana, Otis L. Bennett of Killeen, Texas; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
