Funeral services for Connie Sue Bryd Conroy will be held Thursday, June 16, 2022, at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro Brad Butler officiating.  Interment will be Friday, 6/17/22 at 10:00 a.m. at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas.  Visitation will begin at 1:00 p.m. on Thursday prior to the service in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel.

Connie Byrd Conroy age 68, was born on July 31, 1953.  She passed away after several lengthy and painful hospital stays on June 7, 2022.  She was a native of Livingston and graduated from Livingston High School in 1971.

She married her husband Steve Conroy in August of 1973 and their marriage lasted 49 years, until her death.

Connie was a nurse.  She worked for several doctors as a Nurse's Aide until she graduated from the Port Arthur Independent School District Vocational Nursing Program in 1978 as an LVN.  Then in 1992 she graduated from Houston Community College with an Associates Degree in Nursing becoming an RN.

Her nursing career took her to several venues; general nursing, psychological nursing, correctional nursing and finally to educational nursing where she retired as a school nurse with the Aldine Independent School District in 2016.

Her greatest passion was her children and grandchildren.  She was always there when they needed her, and they needed her greatly when her oldest daughter passed in 2020 leaving 3 wonderful children behind.

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Milam and Willie (Gencie) Byrd; her sister, Barbara Byrd Sullivan; and her first daughter, Kimberley Conroy Martinez.

She is survived by her brother, Larry Byrd and his wife Paula Byrd; brother, Lane Byrd; husband, Steve Conroy; son-in-law, Bryant Martinez; and grandchildren, Gabrielle, Ninasofia and Jacob Martinez; daughter, Stephanie Conroy Davis; son-in-law, Shawn Davis; and granddaughters, Alexis and Madison Davis.
