Funeral services for Cornelius Vasilescu, 93, formally of Livingston, Texas, will be held Monday, December 30, 2019 at 3:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.  Military Honors will be provided by the VFW Post #8568.  Interment will be 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Forest Park Lawndale Cemetery in Houston, Texas. Visitation will be Monday, December 30, 2019 just prior to the service beginning at 2:00 p.m.  in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas.

Mr. Vasilescu was born August 3, 1926 in Galveston, Texas to parents, George Vasilescu and Doris Louise (Bavoux) Vasilescu and passed away December 27, 2019 in Bryan, Texas.  He proudly served his country in the United States Army in WWII and later worked for Southern Pacific Railroad.

He is survived by his daughter, Terrie Wilson and son-in-law, Patrick, daughter, Donna Getchell; son, Bart Vasilescu; sister, Mary Lou Collins and Brother-in-law, James; grandchildren, Greta Vasilescu, Ben Vasilescu and Abby Getchell and numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
