Charles Thomas Jones was born February 2, 1920 in McComb, Mississippi, the son of Madison Ebenezer Jones and Elizabeth Martin Jones. He went to be with our Lord, August 19, 2010, in Votaw, Texas and is preceded in death by his parents and his first wife of 54 years, Leola Cooper Jones.
He served in the Army Air Force from November 1941 to October 1945 in the 145th Base Unit During WWII and held the rand of Sgt.
He surrendered to the ministry at Southland Baptist Church in Houston, Texas under the pastorate of Rev. Raymond Blount in 1952. He faithfully pastured in eight churches for 54 years.
Survivors include his wife, Anice Jones of Votaw, his son and wife, Johnny & Sandra Jones of Humble, daughter and husband, Charlene & Tom Boggus of Bryan, and sister, Christine Brinkley of Griffin, Georgia. Grandchildren and spouses include: Michelle Swanson, Elizabeth & Derrick Brode, Leslie & Mike Lee, Shelly & Jordan Fleck, John Michael & Audrea Jones, and Chris & Beck Boggus. He is also survived by 10 great grandchildren.
