Memorial services for Cynthia Horton, 51, of Leggett, Texas, will be held Sunday, August 6, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. A burial at Bullock Cemetery in Ranger, Texas will be at a later date.

Cynthia was born February 23, 1966 in Del Rio, Texas at Laughlin Air Force Base to Henry Allan Horton and Terry Jeanne (Armstrong) Horton, and passed away in her home on July 30, 2017 in Leggett, Texas. She is preceded in death by her mother; grandparents, Dr. Henry & Mrs. Hazel Horton Jr. and Marvin & Doris Armstrong; and uncle, Don Longwood.

During her life, she resided in Leggett for 49 yrs and became a Christian at an early age of 11 yrs. Cynthia was a member of Jones Prairie Baptist in Leggett.

She attended Peter Pan College in Livingston at the early age of 4 yrs old and attended Leggett School from kindergarten to senior year, where she graduated in May of 1984. Cynthia worked in area nursing homes for several years as a CNA and later years worked in private home care. She was a very caring health care worker, had a very giving heart, and never met a stranger; she was loved by everyone who knew her. Other passions were plants, going places with friends, and attending family reunions with her family.

She is survived by her father, Henry A. Horton III of Austin, Texas; aunt, Janie Scholar of Ranger, Texas; uncle, Sam Horton of Austin, Texas; aunts, Sarah Dorsch of Bow, New Hampshire, Nancy Wilbur of Austin, Texas, and Joan McBryde of Las Vegas, Nevada; great-great aunt, Jewell Hutson of Kerens, Texas; along with numerous cousins, second cousins, other relatives and close friends.
