Funeral services for Dallas William Hancock, 95, of Livingston, Texas, will be held Friday, January 3, 2020 at 2:00 p.m. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Bro. Joe Smith officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Interment will follow in the Peebles Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until the service begins at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home.

Mr. Hancock was born December 1, 1924 in Orange Grove, Mississippi to parents, Charles William Hancock and Luella (Taylor) Hancock, and passed away December 29, 2019 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Brent Hancock; step-son, Michael Bunting; step-daughter, Linda Kowis; sister, Kitty Beck; and brother, Carl Eugene Hancock.

He is survived by his wife, Norma Jean Hancock of Livingston, Texas; son, Ronald Hancock and wife, Karen of Bryan, Texas; daughter, Andrea Hancock of Austin, Texas; step-daughter, June Morton of New Caney, Texas; sister, Marie Carroll of Semmes, Alabama; 7 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and 7 step-great-grandchildren; along with numerous other relatives and friends.

During his life, Mr. Hancock proudly served his country in the United States Army during WWII. After his discharge in 1945, he worked for Morrell Meat Company, Phillips Oil Company, and then for Anchor Glass Container Union 153 in Houston, Texas for 20 years. He retired in 1985 and moved to Point Blank on the lake where he fished and helped his neighbors with their problems. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V, the V.F.W., and the American Legion. He was also a member of the Pasadena Masonic Lodge #1155 A.F. & A.M.
