Funeral services for Dan Henry Wescott, 83, of Onalaska, Texas will be held at 3:00 P.M. Saturday, April 23, 2016 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Post #8568. Interment will be held at the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas at 9:30 A.M. on Monday, April 25, 2016. Visitation will be held from 5:00 P.M. – 9:00 P.M. on Friday, April 22, 2016 at the Cochran Funeral Home in Livingston, Texas.
Mr. Wescott was born on March 10, 1933 in Kansas City, Missouri to parents, Buel T. Wescott and Nina Lousina (Brown) Wescott and passed away on April, 20, 2016 in Livingston, Texas. During his life, he proudly served in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. Dan loved to hunt, fish, travel, work with wood and cook. He is preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold Wescott and Gerald Wescott; sisters, Rose Marie (Wescott) McCanias, Geraldine (Wescott) Lemmon, and Marylou (Wescott) Schochler.
He is survived by his daughter, Cathy Gerkie; son, Dan Henry Wescott; daughters, Tamara Ann Wescott, Shelley Thornsberry, and Vanessa Karris and husband, Gus; grandchildren, Robyn Russell, Michael Evans, and Samantha Snyder; great-grandchildren, Lily Snyder and Moira Russell; along with numerous other relatives and friends.
