Interment will take place at Magnolia Hill Cemetery in Segno, Texas on Sunday, April 5, 2020 with the graveside beginning at 12:00 p.m. with Dr. Brant Graham officiating. Daniel Barrett Maze was born on December 24, 1986, to parents Jerry Glenn and Pamela Jo Maze. He was married to Aryka Perry Maze and has a daughter, Roxie Pearl Maze. He is survived by his father Jerry and wife Sherry; and his mother Pam and his daughter Roxie both of whom he adored; his brother, James Brandon Maze and wife Valerie; his sister, Kathryn Anne Maze and niece Emmah Jo Salazar. His grandparents are J.L. (deceased) and Delores Maze, and Charles (deceased) and Jean Kennedy. He is also survived by aunts and uncles, Gregory Maze; David Kennedy, wife Lolly and their children Courtney, Caylee and her husband Joseph, and Luke; Randy Kennedy, wife Sally and their daughter Kasey. He was loved by a large and dedicated host of extended family and friends.
Daniel grew up in Livingston, Texas and attended Central Baptist Church. He worked for his grandfather on the pipeline as a tractor operator for several summers. His family then moved to the Waco, Texas area where he graduated from Hubbard High School in Hubbard, TX in 2001. Afterward he attended McLennan Community College and TSTC. He worked as a meat cutter for Brookshires in Robinson for many years.
Daniel is remembered as a loving and caring person whose life was centered around his family and friends. As a young child he spent many days on the lake and at the hunting camps, enjoying the outdoors with his Papa and Dad. He loved traveling in the motorhome for family vacations. He was proud of his family, especially his Roxie. She was his motivation and inspiration--the light of his life.
Daniel leaves behind the legacy of being a kind soul who loved God and his family. He was committed to loving the people around him and to making a good life for Roxie.
Daniel especially loved little children and he enjoyed the family traditions around cooking and food and making sure people were taken care of by having enough to eat. As a high school student, he volunteered with Meals on Wheels to get food to those who were hungry.
To honor that part of his legacy, the family asks that in lieu of flowers you donate to the work feeding children without reliable food sources through the school where his mother teaches:
