Visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 21, 2017 at 5:00 P.M. with a memorial service beginning at 6:00 P.M. in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas. Military Honors will be provided by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568.
Danny Dunlap was born on March 29 th , 1933 to parents Georgia Hammond Dunlap and Dan Dunlap in Soda, Texas. Danny passed away on March 18 th , 2017 in Livingston, Texas.
Danny graduated from Livingston High School and Sam Houston State University and at the age of 18 joined the United States Air Force where he served with distinction for 22 years. While in the Air Force and stationed at Hamilton Air Force Base, he met and married the former Margaret "Margo" Mitchell of Coalburn, Scotland. They had two sons, Kevin and Keith.
Upon his retirement, he went to work for the Department of the Army at Ft. Hood where he worked for 33 years until his retirement as Chief of Air Traffic Operations. After his retirement, he was inducted into the Ft. Hood's U.S. Army Garrison Hall of Fame.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Margaret and shortly thereafter, returned to his hometown of Livingston, Texas where he resided with his sister Joyce and her husband, Roy King. He is also preceded in death by his parents; brother, Leonard Dunlap; and mother-in-law, Sarah Mitchell of Coalburn, Scotland.
Danny is survived by his son, Kevin and his wife, Ann of Killeen and son Keith of Austin, Texas. He is also survived by his sister Joyce King and her husband, Roy; sister, Wanda Touchet of Livingston, Texas. He is survived by his nieces, Danae Walding and Gwynne Dunlap; nephews, Scotty King, Danny Duff; Charles Roff and Byron Dunlap; grandsons, Cody Mounce of Killeen, Texas, Nathan Gramling and wife, Sara of Paragould, Arkansas; great grandsons, Macullay and Lochlann Gramling.
