Funeral services for Danny Lee Vest, 67, of Livingston, Texas will be held at 12:00 PM, Tuesday, July 8, 2014 in the Cochran Funeral Home Chapel in Livingston, Texas with Rev. Harold Isaacs officiating. Military honors will be provided by VFW Honor Guard Post #8568. Interment will be held at 4:00 PM, Tuesday, July 8, 2014, at Fairview Cemetery in Nacogdoches, Texas. Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, Monday, July 7, 2014 also at Cochran Funeral Home.
Mr. Vest passed away on Thursday, July 3, 2014 in Conroe. He was born on June 9, 1947 in Nacogdoches, the son of James Addison Vest and Marjorie Irene Brown Vest. He was a 1965 graduate of Slocum High School and briefly attended Stephen F. Austin State University before enlisting in the United States Air Force. He served our nation for more than 20 years until his retirement, with the rank of Chief Master Sergeant. His retirement was filled with spoiling his daughter and even more so, his grandchildren. Danny was also one of the most prolific bass fishermen around. You could always find him on the lake chasing after the prize bass.
Mr. Vest is survived by his daughter, Sharon Denese Vest Patterson and her husband Zach of Livingston, Texas; grandchildren, Corbin Lee Patterson and Krislyn Denese Patterson, both of Livingston, Texas; brother, James Corley Vest and his wife Karen of Nacogdoches, Texas; sister, Carolyn Cedillos and her husband Manuel of Livingston, Texas; nephew, William "Casey" Sheley Warnock, II and his wife Helen of Livingston, Texas; nieces, Lydia Renee Vest of Nacogdoches, Texas, Stephanie Lyn Cavazos and her husband David of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Leah Regina Vest of Nacogdoches, Texas, Amanda Elizabeth Cedillos-Hood and her husband Ricky of Willow Park, Texas, and Amber Hope Cedillos of Dallas, Texas. He is also survived by a host of other extended family members and close friends. Mr. Vest was preceded in death by his parents, James and Marjorie Vest; and a brother, Clyde Wayne Vest.
