Memorial services for Darrel Garvin DeGraw, 87, of Livingston, Texas will be held Thursday, March 10, 2022, at 1:45 p.m. in the Houston National Cemetery in Houston, Texas with the Honor Guard Chaplain officiating.

Darrel was born July 12, 1934 in Lincoln, Nebraska to parents, Cornelius DeGraw and Lily (Catron) DeGraw, and passed away January 31, 2022 in Livingston, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, and daughter, Denise Hartford. During his life, Darrel proudly served his country in the United States Army and retired at the rank of Colonel. He also had a passion for going to school and learning. In addition to the military, Darrel was also a college professor, minister, and a counselor for families and children. He loved to help others and often gave everything he could, but expected nothing in return.

He is survived by his wife, Ramona DeGraw of Spring, Texas; daughters, Diane Hodyniak of Salado, Texas, and Deb Blevins of Kearney, Nebraska; son, Douglas DeGraw of Hewitt, Texas; step-sons, Wayne Barnes and wife, Lesly of Huntsville, Texas, and James Barnes and wife, Stefanie of Cypress, Texas; brother, Harold DeGraw of Lincoln, Nebraska; 8 grandchildren; and 5 great-grandchildren; as well as numerous other relatives and a host of friends.
